About US

O. NE Mentoring Academy is a local non-profit organization that focuses on mentoring mindfulness. Our trained mentors and licensed counselors will provide programs and services tailored to each youth. Our organization’s cornerstone is to address self-worth, stress, depression and anxiety using psychotherapies and coping strategies. O. NE Mentoring Academy launched in 2020’ during the Covid pandemic with the vision to address the growing need for hope, self-worth/love, civil discourse, homophily and equanimity among our community and to imbue social emotional competence from the humanities.

S.E.L.

Social emotional learning (SEL) is a methodology that helps students of all ages to better comprehend their emotions, to feel those emotions fully, and demonstrate empathy for others. The CASEL 5 addresses five broad and interrelated areas of competence and highlights examples for each: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.

The structure of a language is its grammar and the free components are its vocabulary. Languages are the primary means of communication of humans, and can be conveyed through speech, sign, or writing.

Coping Strategies

Coping is conscious or unconscious strategies used to reduce unpleasant emotions. Coping strategies can be cognitions or behaviors and can be individual or social. There are many different conceptualizations of coping strategies, but the five general types of coping strategies are problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, social support, religious coping, and meaning making.
